The DisneyQuest token kiosk project involved the creation of an automated teller for "DisneyQuest - Disney's Indoor Interactive Theme Park." Incredibly, the DisneyQuest token kiosk was fully designed and engineered from the ground up in four short months in 1998.

The theme parks, which received design awards, where opened in Chicago, Illinois and Orlando, Florida.

The DisneyQuest user interface was created to enhance the user experience by making the purchasing process friendly in the Disney way. One of the most unique elements of the kiosk was that it presented itself in first person by using the term "I." By using "I" to describe "itself," the teller became more in character with the Disney design philosophy that anything can be a "living" object. This project constituted a significant break from the common automated teller language.

The DisneyQuest token kiosk, with its brightly colored exterior and user interface, fits right into the fantasy based environment of the theme park. It walks the user through the purchase of 'units' for playing the games in the theme park.
