ROLE
project manager / designer / programmer
In 1999, I had the pleasure and opportunity to redesign the Austin Film Festival's web site (www.austinfilmfestival.com).
The project involved understanding why film makers and festival attendees used the site. The site was to provide an easy access to the festival schedules and their daily changes.
The site needed to load quickly and still maintain a flare that read, 'Welcome to Austin, Texas y'all!'
The general look and feel of the pages were designed to capture the wide open spaces of Texas.
As Austin is set on the edge of the Hill Country, the navigation bar at the top of each page was meant to graphically capture the setting Texas summer sun behind the dried, grass-covered hills.
The reuse of the home page images is one of the site's details that I particularly enjoy.
